contact infoMesoCoat is also developing our FARCoat™ Focused Arc Radiant Coating application system, and custom tailored feedstock’s for fusion cladding of large area structures. Originally developed, and licensed from Oak Ridge National Labs, MesoCoat is the first private facility to offer high density infrared fusion cladding technology to industry. The patent pending FARCoat™ application system is being designed to be installed on line at plate, sheet, extrusion, and pipe mills to apply the latest generation of corrosion and wear resistant nanocomposites to provide lower cost and higher performance compared to galvanizing, fusion bonded epoxy claddings, or zinc based primers. The FARCoat™ system enables the application of metallurgical bonded metal and polymer coatings and claddings at application productivity rates exceeding 60 square yards per hour for a typical installation. The high heat flux and speed of the FARcoat™ fusion cladding system enables claddings to be applied to heat sensitive substrates such as thermo mechanically processed and high strength low alloy steels, without heat affecting the substrate mechanical properties. MesoCoat’s products produce significantly lower environmental, health, and safety liabilities compared to market alternatives, while reducing total cost of ownership to the end user.
MesoCoat, Inc. has established an advanced coatings development center to support development and qualification of nanocomposite coatings. This center includes state of the art thermal spray and plasma spray facilities, the only commercial high density infrared fusion cladding facility, and a wide range of coating application and characterization equipment to support the introduction and use of nanocomposite coatings and claddings.
